Binoculars are actually really useful
They're great for spotting allusive subjects
Cool video man
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video. ❤❤❤ I bought the Nikon P950 camera and it works great for me. It was only $700.
What kind of lens do you have on the camera in the befinning of this video?
@evelienlooijschelder250 it's the new 16-50mm F2.8-4.8 R LM WR. Fujifilm released it at the same time as the camera and it's a fab little lens 📸
I absolutely love the P950.
Does it have flash light
so sigma 🐺

Usm connection to eyepiece not shown, how 3 prongs fixes ? Obviously you can take pics as well,
Nice work chaps, great video 👍. Patient is the virtue you most certainly need.
I'm preparing to go on an African Safari this summer and am intrigued about this camera, but wondering if it's overkill over the p950 given how unsharp the images are in the end of the zoom range.
Thank you for having me Ben! Fun day out and nature delivered even without perfect light conditions!
Hi there, I own the exact same kit and strongly suggest putting a wrist strap on that lens and holding it always by the lens foot as the weight of that lens will warp your Z8 or 180-600mm mounting flange or both and will get a loosie twist feel when handing in the long run. With BIF I always use the Focusing box "wide L". In my "I" button, I setup to quickly change the focusing box for different scenarios like if the bird is behind heavy bush, I can switch it to spot focus. I set up CAF and MF override so If I need to, I can fine tune with manual focusing with focus peaking turned on. The other thing I can suggest is set up a Shoot A and Shoot B with settings for auto ISO (Shoot A) and ISO you can control with exposure compensation to the right 1-2 stops (Shoot B) for birds in flight that are consistently coming from one direction or static birds. If that Kite would consistently fly into the wind, I would Shoot in B mode that way I have proper exposure on the kite and then you can bring back that sky in post. If the Kite would be erratic and flying in all directions then Auto ISO, Shoot A mode, get it Sharp and deal with exposure and shadows in post later. By the way I never waste memory space shooting in Jpeg and Raw because remember you only got on CF card slot in that Z8, and I'm always shooting in FX, High Burst 20fps. I like CF Type B cards of 512GB. Do your research and you can get excellent brands at an excellent price. My SD card slot on my Nikon Z8 is always empty. For wildlife photography you want speed of capture, so CF always. BTW I considered the Z9 because of it having 2 CF card slots, but the weight and size between both camera bodies was a big factor in my decision. If I got a static bird, on approach I always try to move around considering its background and that all important Bokeh. Like you said, unfortunately having alota patience in order to get that killer shot is what is most important for this genre of photography. Other than that, that kit will definitely make your better at wildlife photography and like you say practice, practice. My 2cts and tips for anybody out there considering this excellent kit.
Because the victory is stunning not cheap but well worth it every time you pick them up.
Disappointed by the dial for film sims. Seems a gimmick to me. How do I select multiple shots - a function I use a lot for wildlife photography? Thanks.
Hi, multi-shots are still easily accessible - you can get to that whole menu by pressing the delete button right under the film sim dial and then using the joystick to select your choice
Nice work Ben where is this please
Thanks a lot Derrick. The first section was filmed at Avalon marshes in Somerset. The 2nd at Slimbridge wetlands centre and the 3rd (Red Kite shots) up on Cleeve hill in the Cotswolds.
Great vid. Glad I found this
Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoyed it
Did you actually look through the devices at all ??
I am thinking to get one. I shoot on a x100f (Fuji) jpeg and road but jpeg on across and I have to admit, I do not touch the Raw and clean up the jpeg. But I feel limited in the law lights situations. It is likely me and not the camera but, I feel I can use all the help I can get from a full size sensor, monochromatic and 1.7 aperture. Be kind but let me know what you think
You needed a tad more shutter speed for those flying birds.
Noted. Ben will definitely be paying more attention to this in the future.
70 degree Fro? 😂 Great video. Some cracking photos of the Kite.
He said flow the first time and then corrected himself to throw 😂 Glad you enjoyed the video.
I fitted my baader Hyperion zoom to the Gavia using the Zeiss astro mount and I have attached my A600 camera with a sigma lens. pretty pleased with this, I also tried the Barlow and I am getting away with it for the most part, I am going to see what it looks like on Jupiter / Saturn.
How are things?! Yeah. really best , peace out~
ty!
Thank you great video.I have a question is your tripod is big a naught to stabilize the camera at 3000 mm
for what its worth, i've had the 150-600 on sony. Its a FF frame lens which has obviously been adapted to go on mft. i dont really understand why anyone with mft would want a ff sized lens? defeats the object. Might as well go FF instead
Thank you Fee for your wonderful review. Going to Alaska in August 2024 and really don't want to carry my heavier pro camera eqip. Considering purchasing this camera? Best Jeff Brooklyn, N.Y.
Wonder if this focal length can handle a Nisi close up filter.
I actually like the donut bokeh. Not great for all images, but interesting at times. It's kind of like the bokeh of a Trioplan, kind of unique and out there. Using a stabilized camera body, you can have IS with this or any lens.
Ordered the camera through you guys so looking forward to it shipping. How's the 28th looking?
Hey @adamdrakestudio - it's looking very good, however, best check in with our customer service team to see where you are in the queue as we have a lot of pre-orders and not everyone will be getting their camera in the first batch. Email sales@cliftoncameras.co.uk to check where you are in the queue 👍
Brilliant presenter. I hope you stick with him. 👍
There will be plenty more of Ben to come in the future, you can be sure of that!😄
My pre-order is with you - just hope you can deliver the goods in good in a timely manner!
same
Hi Phil - thanks for placing your pre-order with us 📸 We are expecting availability to be good (certainly better than the X100V!). To find out where you are in the queue please contact our customer service team by emailing sales@cliftoncameras.co.uk
I’m not in the first batch. First batch was only 44 cameras so god knows when my order will be fulfilled.
@@adamdrakestudio I'm sorry to hear you won't be getting your camera in the first batch. We will be doing our best to keep customers up to date with when they will be receiving their camera, and hopefully it won't be too long until you get it in your hands!
Nice video thanks
Based on this video alone I have subscribed. The perfect balance of humour and information. Excellent presentation.
Glad you enjoyed it - there's plenty more to come!
Highly anticipated…… highly constipated more like.
That's a little over $27 for americans wondering. $27!
Twenty-one pound fifty
thanks
in those low light conditions and you manage to have these pictures. it is pretty amazing
It certainly is. I was very impressed with the low-light performance of the camera all thanks to that newly installed IBIS. Thanks for checking out the video.
SHIRTY COMMENT
How much did the Roman baths cost? 😂
I missed that detail, too!
same here lol
what is the actual weight of P950? Thanks.
can you please tell me settings for dulistant zooming on P1000 as my images are blurry and objexts are not clear on distinct zooming
Curvature of the warth is no where to be found. 😂 This camera prooves diistances you should t be able to see due to the so called curvature. Love this can
With this camera you can wonderfully observe how a ship disappears below the horizon. Which shows the curvature of the Earth. But I guess if someone wants to believe stuff that other fookweeds on the internet told him even if the greeks from 2000 years ago already knew the Earth is round then all hope is lost. As they say: It is much easier to deceive someone as to convince him he has been deceived.
This remains the best review of the P1000 that I've seen. As others have said I would have liked to see what's possible with RAW files, but otherwise a fantastic review. Thanks!
How would you compare the 90 f2 and the 50-140 ? Of course the latter got the 50-90 range. But for the 90-150 range, doesn't the 90mm partly compensate because one can crop more since we shoot at lower iso, and the quality of the shots will be slightly better since it is a prime ? Plus you got a bit more bokeh with f2 than you do with f2.8, so with shooting at 90mm f2 and croping, don't we get at least like a 125 f 2.8 equivalent in terms of quality and Bokeh ?
OM dropped support for the OM1i flagship after less than 2 years, I'm boycotting.
Um, no, there’s a big firmware update coming later this year.
@@ethanaderemi the firmware wasn’t announced when I wrote this, so you can thank me
Interesting lens!
The elephant in the room re this lens seems to be the price and the comparison price-wise with the non-M43 version. I'm guessing there must have been cost involved in adapting the lens to M43 (and are there other enhancements to the M43 version?). Bringing this lens to the OM system is going to be a big deal for serious wildlife photographers (regardless of cost) and I think it's great that OM system are expanding the format (despite the negativity they seem to attract). None of this rambling means I'll be buying the lens unless I unexpectedly come into money any time soon.... Great review video though!
